All of those track sets use anywhere between 4 and 12 of those slots. OpenTTD only allows for a maximum of 16 track types. There is no quality control or enforcement in how they behave. And while most NewGRFs do not cause problems with each other, no NewGRF is guaranteed not to cause an issue. The more you throw on, the more things get complicated. When you start adding NewGRFs, you actually risk throwing things out of balance since there is no rule or enforced standard that NewGRFs behave in any particular way.įor this reason it is usually advised that you only use one type of NewGRF: one track set, one vehicle set, one train set, one industry set, etc. NewGRFs do not fix deficiencies with the core game, they are simply extra things that people have developed due to their own interests. It is far better to only load the ones you will really use than to load a bunch you never actually touch.
